The presentations from the Lead Beneficiary Seminar on 12 and 13 October in Bremen, Germany, are now available online.

On October 7th and 8th, 2010, the European project Vital Rural Area hold its second International Policy Forum on Regional Development in the Legoland Hotel at Billund (DK). Central theme 2010: innovation and involvement in regions in transition.

The presentations given by the Secretariat during the Cluster Projects Development Workshop in Bremen are now available online, along with a status update on the latest developments concerning the cluster initiative.

The Smart Cities project is involved in creating a statement on how National and EU decision makers could better support local e-government. The aim of the Citadel Statement is to produce a call to action  that builds upon the objectives of the Malmo Ministerial Declaration to demonstrate to national Governments how they can best support/promote eGovernment in their own local authorities. The North Sea Region Programme and the Smart Cities project, represented by lead beneficiary Leiedal and helped by Edinburgh Napier University are cooperating with the e-government administration unit of the Flemish Government to organise a large-scale conference on December, 14 where the statement will be presented.

The first stakeholder from Latin America, the ITTP, underlines the international orientation of the Northern Maritime Universityy (NMU). The ITTP will support the project partners developing further education modules for the maritime sector and expanding NMU's market coverage.

The Monitoring Committee meeting no 7 was held on 29 and 30 September in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The decisions made by the committee include information about the next Calls for Applications and applications for cluster projects.

The North Sea Region Programme will have an exhibition stand in the 'Meeting Place' of the Committee of the Regions during the Open Days, 4-7 October in Brussels. The Secretariat will also chair a workshop on communicating across borders on Wednesday. In the evening there will be a small reception at the stand.

A booklet with the project cluster ideas submitted to date is now available for download. The ideas will be discussed during the upcoming Cluster Project Development Workshop in Bremen on 13-14 October.

NMU will take part at the Open Days 2010 in Brussels as best practice presenting the projects achievements at the stand in the Committee of Regions building.

13 Cluster Ideas have been submitted for consideration by the Monitoring Committee. It is still possible to hand in ideas as input for the Cluster Projects Development Workshop on 13 and 14 October in Bremen, Germany.

3rd meeting of North Sea Screen Partners on 24th and 25th August 2010

The enercoast project was featured on the German regional TV channel NDR in their show “Hallo Niedersachsen” on 15 September. The clip is available online.

NMU succeeded in acquiring one of the leading companies based in maritime education.

The projects approved at Steering Committee No 5 and ready to start are now presented in the project section.

It is still possible to hand in cluster project ideas as input for discussion at the MC meeting on 29 and 30 September. The deadline for submission is 22 September.

Now, there is a podcast available that summarizes the visit of state secretary Heinz Maurus at the NMU partner University of Applied Sciences Lübeck on August 18, 2010.

Online registration for the Lead Beneficiary Seminar is now open. The lunch-to-lunch event will take place on 12 and 13 October in Bremen, Germany.

It is now possible to register online for the Cluster Project Development Workshop, which will take place on 13 and 14 October in Bremen, Germany. All lead beneficiaries, beneficiaries and other interested stakeholders are welcome to participate.
