1.039 Effective Asphaltene Control in Complex Heterogeneous Reservoirs

Description

One of the most common reasons for oil and gas production loss, in the oil and gas fields, is the development of Asphaltene inside production strings. These Asphaltene compounds block the flow of reservoir fluids to the surface resulting in reduced production. The Asphaltene problem has been severe concern for the oil and gas companies operating in North Sea.  To date, oilfield Asphaltene prevention strategies are mainly based on the laboratory coreflood experiments and/or on very simple wellbore models lacking essential geological complexities.

To overcome the Asphaltene challenges, it is important to initiate efforts for effective Asphaltene control and enhance production. A key element of this initiative is to develop a near wellbore simulator, which will assist in effective Asphaltene control and enhance production by computing real downhole complexities.
